Spring has sprung, and it's our favorite time of the year for birds.

At Wilderness Awareness School, we don't just celebrate bird watching; we go much deeper by becoming familiar with the language of the birds. There is so much that we can learn about our landscape when we tune into bird communication.

Join us for an 8-day challenge (April 23rd-30th) led by Heather Durham. Not only is Heather a Bird Language aficionado, but she's also our book store manager, bookkeeper, guest instructor, Kamana mentor, and an award-winning author.

The stunning photographs used in this challenge were taken by our Registrar, Susan Wepking, and Anake Outdoor School Program Manager, Marcus Reynerson.

By signing up below, you'll be joining our Bird Language Challenge via email, and will receive daily prompts to your inbox from April 23rd - 30th. You can also participate by joining the Wilderness Awareness School Challenge Group on Facebook, where challenge participants share their photos, stories, and experiences.
